Gym Rules

We hope you will have a positive experience at our gym. Here are some simple rules to keep the gym safe, clean, and smooth running.

  •  Do gymnastics safely
  •  Get your coach’s permission before getting on equipment
  •  Get your coach’s permission before attempting new moves
  •  Walk from place to place
  •  Watch where you walk
  •  If you leave the class, tell your coach

Specific Gym Rules

  • Please be on time for your class. It is important to have a proper warm-up before doing any gymnastics skills.

  • No food or drinks in the gym area. You may bring a water bottle that is labeled with your child’s name.

  • Students need to wait for their coach to call them onto the gym floor. (No playing on equipment while waiting for class to start)

  • If parents want to watch, they must remain upstairs so as not to distract any athlete from the floor or occupy space in front of the front entrance due to safety.

  • Long hair MUST be tied back into a ponytail for safety reasons.

  • No street pants or jeans, please. Wear form-fitting t-shirts and stretchy pants/shorts, or a body suit. Gymnasts may wear non-slip gymnastics slippers or bare feet.

  • No GUM or candy in the gym, please. It is hard to get off the mats and floors.

  • Parents of preschool children: Please ask your child if they need to go to the bathroom BEFORE class.

  • Parents: You are responsible for your children immediately after their class is over. Our coaches will be on the floor with their next class. Please pick up your child promptly from inside the building. Our policy is to have the child wait inside the gym until you arrive. The students are not to wait outside the building for you.

  • Please be sure that your child leaves the gym with all of their clothing and belongings. The Lost and Found items will be donated every few weeks.

  • Parents, please refrain from having conversations with your children while they are training (unless it is necessary) as it is disruptive to the other athletes as well as the coaches.

  • Parents, please police yourselves so that we don’t have to create and enforce extra rules that no one wants.

Registration and Insurance Fee

To accommodate progression through the Can Gym Program, Flip City’s Recreational Program runs continually and the competitive programs run every year until a withdrawal email is sent to the office with a minimum full month’s notice. This is to accommodate the transitioning of athletes as skills are achieved and athletes are ready to move up to a new level. All tuition fees are based on 47 weeks of classes and account for gym closures. Flip City reserves the right to adjust the class schedule, fees, and times based on registrations with notice. While we understand changes to the schedule can be difficult for families,  we will do our best to work with all families to find the best fit with the least amount of interruption.

GBC Insurance Fee for 2024/2025 will be due by September 1st, 2024, and applied to all accounts. This amount is determined by GBC and we will advise of the cost. If an athlete does not have insurance at the start of the season they will not be able to participate. Flip City’s yearly membership fee is $10.00 and is due at the same time as the GBC Insurance.
